MITCHELL, ANNE F., of Philadelphia, died Friday, January 29, 2010 in Philadelphia, PA. She was the daughter of Dr. Charles F. and Alice P. Mitchell. Her father was long associated at Pennsylvania Hospital as a general surgeon and had been Commanding Officer of Base Hospital #10 under the British at La Trejore, France during World War I. Her mother was a graduate of the Nursing School at Pennsylvania Hospital in 1915. She offered her services to the American Ambulance Service at Neuillyes outside of Paris as many other doctors and nurses did from Pennsylvania Hospital. Miss Mitchell graduated from the Shipley School and worked for forty two years at PNC Bank, formerly Provident Trust Company. She and her family vacationed in Cape May, New Jersey. She is survived by her niece, Alice Richey and by a great niece, Caroline Richey of South Carolina. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to The Shipley School, 814 Yarrow Street, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010 or to Pennsylvania Hospital, 800 Spruce Street, Philaldelphia, PA 119107. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 5, 2010 at The Church of the Holy Trinity, 1904 Walnut Street, Philadelphia, PA. Interment will be private.
