McKENNA, JOSEPH MAXIMILLIAN, SR., “Mac”, age 84, died at his summer home in N Cape May due to a long illness, having been a bladder cancer survivor for more than 20 years. Joseph had a lengthy career with the USCG, and was an active member in many community organizations. Survived by his wife of 45 years, Meridel “Del” Rooney McKenna, son Joseph Maximillian, Jr, “Mickey” (and wife Anne), daughter Lynnda McKenna Riederer, all of Cape May, NJ; grandchildren Maxime and Louise McKenna and Kirsten Sanders and Ryan Riederer; Step-daughter Kathleen Rooney of Jim Thorpe, PA and step-son Timothy Rooney. Predeceased in death by brother Richard S McKenna, Baltimore, MD and step-son James P Rooney. In lieu of flowers family would appreciate donations to Shriners’ Children Hospital, Philadelphia, PA. Services for Joseph will be held 11am Saturday, May 5th, 2018 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, N Cape May; calling hours 9:30 – 11am. A Masonic service will be presented by members of Cape Island Lodge #30 F&AM, with military service by members of US Coast Guard Training Center Honor Detail. BOWERSOCK, ROBERT After a battle with Alzheimer's, on July 22, 2025, Robert Bowersock “Big Bad Bob” passed away peacefully at home on the bay, surrounded by his loving family and graced with a beautiful sunset to end his final Chapter of Life. Bob was born on January 20, 1940.
