ENGELBRECHT, JOSEPH R., age 54, of Villas passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 4, 2011. Born in Patterson, NJ; he resided in North Jersey before moving to Cape May 30 years ago. Joe was employed by the City of Wildwood as a carpenter for over 20 years. He was an avid amateur ham radio operator and was a Cape May County Sky Warner through the National Weather Service. Joe enjoyed being a member of the greyhound society and adored his dogs Gizzy & Baby. He also enjoyed long walks on the beach and watching movies. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Fredrick & Erma Engelbrecht. He is survived by his wife Brenda; one son Joey Engelbrecht; two sisters: Elizabeth Testino & Marie Bossard; one brother Fredrick Engelbrecht; and step children: Jacob, Amber, Ashley, & Shannon Miller. Also surviving are 2 grandchildren: Kaylie & Reese Engelbrecht; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ; where friends may call from 10 to 11 am. Interment will be private.
