DOUGHERTY, Jr., JOSEPH E. “Pop”, 78, of Ocean View passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on March, 14, 2014. He was born and raised in South Philadelphia. He served in the US Air Force before working as a co-owner at Ocean View Plumbing Supply. He then opened a plumbing business with his son. He enjoyed watching the Eagles and Phillies and was an avid fisherman with his friends and family. Joe especially loved trips to Atlantic City to play the horses and family trips to Florida. He was a member of St. Josephs Church in Sea Isle. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Dougherty; sisters Frances Caulfield and Mary Ross; daughter Cathy Brophy; sons Christopher (Maureen) J. Dougherty of S. Seaville and Joseph E. Dougherty III of Ocean View; grandchildren: Frankie, Jackie, Katrina, Tom, Mike, Kayla, Chris, Linda, Joseph, Carly, James, Kaitlin, Kristen, Kelsey, and Christopher.; as well as 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Frances Dougherty and his brother Daniel Dougherty. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 43th & Landis Ave., Sea Isle, NJ 08243.
