COOGAN, MICHAEL P., age 71, of Villas passed away on Thursday, May 19, 2011 at his home. Born in Philadelphia, PA; he has been a Cape May area resident since 1976. Michael was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School in Philadelphia; attended West Chester State; and Villanova University. He served his country in the US Army Infantry in Vietnam earning the Distinguished Service Award. Michael was a lifetime member of the VFW. “The Marquis de La Plage” was a member of the North Wildwood and Wildwood Beach Patrols Alumni. He was a member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians; and held dual Irish & American citizenship. He was the owner/operator of Coogan Medical Supply in Villas from 1980 to 2008. Michael is survived by his wife Joanne Perry of Villas and his brother Jason (Selina) Coogan. Also surviving are his niece Mary Gursick & family; and his nephew Michael Coogan & family. There will be a memorial service at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; where friends may call from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
