CLAYTON, DEREK

Derek Clayton, age 31 of Villas, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020. Born in Livingston, NJ, Derek graduated from Newton High School and went on to ACCC for a degree in Culinary Arts. He was a Chef at the Whitebriar in Avalon, and previously worked at Peter Shields Restaurant in Cape May and the Blue Rose restaurant in Cape May. Derek enjoyed cooking, music and was a drummer. He enjoyed cars as well, especially his mustang. Derek is survived by his mother Cheryl Butera, step-father James Butera, sister Nicole MacMurray, nephew Ian MacMurray, maternal grandparents Robert and Carol Repko, and paternal grandmother Bettey Bond. A Celebration of Life for Derek will be held 11am on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the Evoy Funeral Home, 3218 Bayshore Rd, N Cape May; friends may call one hour prior to service from 10am – 11am.
