CARLIN, MARIE CLAIRE, age 80, of North Cape May passed away peacefully Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Cape Regional Medical Center. Marie was born December 22, 1935 in Philadelphia, PA; summered in Cape May since 1970; and became a full time Cape May area resident in 1988. She is the daughter of the late Anthony and the late Marie (Wallace) Sharkey. Marie was a member of the Parish of St John Neumann, was active in the Cape May County Senior Citizens, loved doing crossword puzzles, and reading. Marie is survived by her husband of 60 years Charles Carlin; and her children: Marie (Gary) Kantor, Nancy (Michael) Bondiskey, Charles (Colleen) Carlin, Kathleen (Benjamin) Scholl, Margaret Carlin, James Carlin, Patricia (Philip) Vance, Rosemary (Kevin) O’Malley, and Jennifer (John) McFadden. Also surviving are: her brothers: Robert (Helen) Sharkey & William (Bea) Sharkey; 22 grandchildren: Michael, Benjamin, Molly, Laura, James, Alison, Sarah, Amanda, Charles, Megan, Kelly, William, Kelly, John, Jenna, Daniel, Thomas, Carlin, Maile, Sean, Patrick, & Conor; and 5 great grandchildren: Maddie, Nate, A.J., Madison, & Ryan. She was preceded in death by her stillborn son Daniel and her brother James Sharkey. Friends will be received from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Monday, July 18, 2016 at the Parish of St John Neumann, St John of God RC Church, 680 Townbank Rd, North Cape May, NJ 08204; followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Cape May County Veteran’s Cemetery, 127 Crest Haven Rd, Cape May Court House, NJ 08210.
