BARCLAY, JOSEPH D., 61, of Cape May Court House, passed away on Thursday, October 24, 2013. Born in Careysburg, Liberia to the late Joseph Botoe Barclay and Julia Freeman Barclay, he moved here 23 years ago from Liberia. He enjoyed farming on his mother’s farm in Liberia. When he moved here he worked at McDonald’s in Cape May Court House. He liked reading about history and political events, especially Liberian history.
Mr. Barclay is survived by his daughter, Julia Barclay; many brothers and sisters including Corann Okorodudu, Juliette Phelps Maxwell, Mabel Bryan (Theodore), Botoe Barclay, Jr., and Dobli Barclay; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Christ Gospel Church, 2209 Route 9 South, Whitesboro, where viewing will begin at 9:00 a.m. Interment in Eglington Cemetery will be private.
