NJTV to Host Forum on Climate Change

ERMA – The public is invited to join NJTV, New Jersey’s public television network, for a panel discussion July 24 on climate change and its impact on New Jersey’s residents and industries.
According to a release, discussion with a panel of experts, moderated by a correspondent from NJTV News, will assess the latest scientific research on the topic of climate change, from rising sea levels to environmental impact to quality of life and economic issues.
Attendees will gain insight into how the Garden State has been affected by changing weather patterns, lessons learned from storms like Hurricane Sandy, as well as the strategies being implemented on the state and local levels to combat it.
The forum will include clips from NJTV’s documentary on climate change, Facing the Future, a local companion to PBS’ national Sinking Cities series, produced by WNET’s Peril and Promise initiative and is the latest event in NJTV’s In Your Neighborhood initiative.

Dr. Daphne Munroe, associate professor in Shellfish Fisheries and Aquaculture, Rutgers University
Jenny Shinn, program coordinator, Haskin Shellfish Research Laboratory, Rutgers University
 Dr. Lenore Tedesco, executive director of the Wetlands Institute
July 24 from 6-8:30 p.m. (discussion begins at 6:30 p.m.)
The event will be held at Lower Cape May Regional High School, 687 Route 9.
Admission is free, however pre-registration is recommended to guarantee a seat. Walk-ins welcome.
