CAPE MAY – Former combat photographer, Erin Kirk-Cumo will be the featured speaker at the Nov. 3 Harborside Chat, at the Nature Center of Cape May, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Erin Kirk-Cumo is an east coast based photographer whose through the lens work captures the essence of human interaction running the gamut from romantic engagement photos to world leaders discussing current and future wars. After graduating from the University of Arts she enlisted in the Marine Corps and was assigned as a combat photographer in both Iraq and Afghanistan before taking on an assignment as the personal photographer for the Commandant of the Marine Corps. After leaving the Marine Corps she accepted a two-year assignment as the lead photographer to the new Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta and then, later Chuck Hagel.
No matter the assignment, Kirk-Cumo strives to communicate through her images. You’ll not want to miss this local woman when she visits the Nature Center Nov. 3, to share her experiences and life.
