CREST HAVEN – Animal Alliance of Cape May County (AACMC) has helped 28,000 cats since 2003. The organization has been serving the community by offering a low-cost spay/neuter clinic for cats, according to a release.
This service is offered to all Cape May County residents as well as those in surrounding municipalities. All are welcome.
The clinics are held each Thursday morning at Moore and Shelter roads in the Crest Haven Complex, Court House by appointment only.
All county residents can spay or neuter a cat for $60 and receive a free rabies vaccination and microchip. To make an appointment visit AnimalAlliancecmc.org.
AACMC is an all-volunteer non-profit 501c3 animal welfare organization. Its mission is to find solutions to the overpopulation of unwanted companion animals, promote the well-being of animals and help end the euthanasia of pets through aggressive spay/neuter.
The Alliance also seeks volunteers. Email Jen @jjk9283@yahoo.com if interested in volunteering.
There are many reasons to spay and neuter pets according to experts.
Sterilization of a cat or dog will increase its chance of a longer and healthier life. Altering a canine friend will increase his life an average of one to three years, felines, three to five years.
Altered animals have a very low to no risk of mammary gland tumors/cancer, prostate cancer, perianal tumors, plyometric, and uterine, ovarian and testicularcancers.
Cape May
County residents on assistance can spay and neuter a dog or cat at various veterinary offices for $10 if they qualify for the state sterilization funding program.
