By Press Release

WILDWOOD – The Wildwoods concluded the 96th Annual National Marbles Tournament June 20, with the crowning of the King and Queen of Marbles.
Mibsters Spencer Hays, 13, of Gunnison, Colo., and Lauren Young, 14, of Frederick County, Md., emerged victorious as the King and Queen of Marbles, after four days of intense competition.
Each winner received large trophies, commemorative plaques, official Tournament watches, and $2,000 each in college scholarships and will have their names inducted into the Marbles Hall of Fame next year (2020).
This year’s National Marbles Tournament, held on the beach in the Wildwoods, attracted Mibsters and their families from across the country – as well as crowds and onlookers – to play more than 1,200 games of marbles at Ringer Stadium on the Wildwoods beach, all competing for national honors, college scholarships and numerous prizes and awards. The tournament celebrated its 96th year of competition this year.
