OCEAN CITY — The Ocean City Neighborhood and Social Services Office will be accepting requests for Thanksgiving and Christmas gift cards, and for free toys from Oct. 11 through Nov. 7, 2016.
Anybody presently receiving food stamps or Supplemental Security Income (SSI) is eligible to participate in the 2016 Ecumenical Council holiday gift card program. Applications will be accepted at the Social Services Office (609-525-9288) at 821 Central Avenue (first floor, north side near the alley). Bring proof of: 1) Ocean City residency, and 2) A food stamp card or bank statement showing direct deposit of SSI. The office is open between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
The Ocean City Waves of Caring has once again partnered with Toys for Tots for the annual Christmas toy program. Applications are being accepted at the Social Services Office.
To qualify for toys, applicants must bring: 1) Proof of residency, 2) Picture ID, 3) Birth certificates or guardianship/custody documents.
Distribution of toys will be 10 a.m. to noon on Wed., Dec. 14, at the Kull Youth Center at the Ocean City Tabernacle on the 500 block of Asbury Avenue.
