Food Day: It’s Time to Eat Real

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – Freeholder Ralph E. Sheets, Jr. invites you to celebrate Food Day on Oct. 24 at Noon with the Rutgers Cooperative Extension, Department of Family & Community Health Sciences. Participate in the discussion and sample a nutritious menu of Indian Summer Vegetable Soup and Spicy Green Salad with us! The event will take place at 355 Court-House-South Dennis Road, Cape May Court House, NJ.
Freeholder Sheets said, “Food Day is a massive, nationwide mobilization for healthy, affordable food produced in sustainable, humane ways.” On Oct. 24, 2011, thousands of events will take place in homes, schools, colleges, houses of worship, and farmers markets to stimulate discussion about the foods we eat and how they are produced. Join in the conversation and help promote healthy, delicious diets based more on vegetables, fruits, and whole grains, as recommended by the Dietary Guidelines for Americans to prevent obesity, heart disease, diabetes, and other costly diet-related chronic diseases. Promote health by curbing junk-food marketing to kids. Learn what “Eat real, America”, means.
Cost is $5.00 per person. Call Marian by October 20th to reserve a space at 465-5115 ext 609. Space is limited so reserve early.
