First Million Fathers March in County Held Oct. 5 in Whitesboro

WHITESBORO – The first Cape May County Million Fathers March happened in Whitesboro Oct. 5. 

 

According to a release, Millions Fathers March is a national initiative that raises awareness about the importance of engaging fathers and male caregivers in support of student wholeness and academic success. 

 

A community event, which organizers want to make an annual happening, is for recognizing and celebrating fathers.

 

The organizations that helped organize the event were Caring For Kids NJ, 609 Nutrition Spot, Atlantic Cape Community College, Middle Township Police Department, Cape May County Council for Young Children, Rita’s Italian Ice and Frozen Custard. 

 

For the inaugural event, Middle Township Mayor Timothy Donohue gave the Millions Fathers March Committee a Mayor’s Certificate of Appreciation. U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew’s representative gave a proclamation as well.
