DENNIS TOWNSHIP – Bishop McHugh Regional Catholic School (BMRCS) will host a Preschool Open House on Sat., Jan. 5, 2019 from 9 to 11 a.m., at the school located at 2221 Route 9 North, Dennis Twp., N.J. 08210. Families will have a chance to meet the teachers and see the classrooms. Children will have an opportunity to make their own snack and enjoy story time and free play in the classroom.
BMRCS’ Little Storm Preschool offers classes for students aged two, two-and-a-half, three and four. The Preschool uses the Creative Curriculum, an award-winning preschool curriculum based on the latest research in child development and learning. “Reading” and “writing” skills are taught via the Daily 5, a literacy program that encourages students to interact with books and share stories. Teachers use hands-on activities to teach early math concepts, science and social studies. Art and music are an integral part of the program, and there is movement and play on a daily basis. Each classroom features a SmartBoard, and students have access to iPad minis for learning reinforcement. There are daily prayers and stories of God’s love, holiday activities and celebrations. Life skills, including potty training for the youngest groups, also are incorporated.
