William Hammerstein Honored as Middle Township’s Employee of the Month

Hammerstein

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – At its 6 p.m. meeting, the Middle Township Committee will honor William Hammerstein as the November 2015 Employee of the Month. Hammerstein serves as a mechanic in the Public Works Department’s Motor Pool Division.
“Bill is always willing to go that extra mile for the motor pool department, and is not your normal 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. employee,” said Public Works Director Robert Flynn. “From showing up well before his shift begins to discuss equipment issues to making sure repairs are completed in a timely manner, Bill is a true asset to the Township.”
Hammerstein began his career at Middle Township in April 2012 in the Grounds Department. Now in the Mechanic Shop, he states that his favorite aspect of his job is “not knowing what will happen during any given shift. It is never boring.” A resident of Villas, Hammerstein states that hunting and fishing are his favorite pastimes.
“Bill quietly does a great job for Public Works,” Deputy Mayor Dan Lockwood said.  “He always steps up without being asked, and it is great to have an employee who cares so much about his department and community.”
“Bill is always willing to lend a hand when needed,” said Committeeman Michael Clark. “He never fails to cheerfully pitch in for the good of the Public Works Department as well as the Township overall.”
The Middle Township Employee of the Month program was initiated by the Township Committee to honor employees who exemplify the Township’s commitment to better delivery of services and going the extra mile for residents. The program culminates with the Darius Graham Employee of the Year honor that is named after one of the Township’s most beloved employees in its history.
Nominations for the Employee of the Month Program are available inside Middle Township hall at three locations: Human Resources and Training Department, Administration Department, and on the bulletin board. Residents from the Township who have had a very positive interaction with any Middle Township employee may pick up the one-page nomination form and fill it out in the employee’s behalf. Each month a Township employee will be selected; the winning nominee will receive a certificate at a future Township Committee meeting along with a photograph posted on the bulletin board.
