Scout’s Eagle Scout Project Memorializes Fallen Officer

By Press Release

SEA ISLE CITY – Future Eagle Scout Ben Jargowsky, of Boy Scout Troop 76, was master of ceremonies during the dedication of the Michael “Mickey” Cullinane Memorial on Landis Avenue at 26th Street. That location is where Officer Cullinane lost his life in 1992 while saving the life of a construction worker. Jargowsky deemed the site a fitting place to create his Eagle Scout project.
“As a community, we can all be very proud of Ben and the hard work he performed to make the memorial a reality, and I encourage everyone to personally experience what a fitting tribute it is for a fallen police officer who heroically died in the line of duty,” stated Mayor Leonard Desiderio in the most recent edition of the city’s newsletter.
Jargowsky’s father is a retired Sea Isle City police captain and is an Eagle Scout. The Jargowsky family has resided in Sea Isle City for many generations.
The future Eagle Scout is a 2015 Ocean City High School graduate. He plans to pursue a career in physics in college.
