TOWNSEND’S INLET – Those who take the plunge Feb. 16 in Sea Isle City’s Polar Bear Plunge can, for $5, buy a “Lucky Duck” at Townsend’s Inlet Civic Center and assist the Sandy Relief Fund.
According to Louise Clemente, TIIA president, “Our goal this year is to sell 1,000 luck ducks in order to help with the expenses of the Townsend’s Inlet Civic Center through the winter.”
The center has a history of helping the community. This year, the center will donate $1 to the Sandy Relief Fund for each duck sold.
Purchases will help the Townsend’s Inlet Civic Center reach its goal by selecting one of hundreds of different ducks offered.
Types include hockey players, race car driver, police, royalty, pirates, emergency workers and more.
Clemente stated in a release she hopes every plunge participant will buy a duck.
The ducks will be on sale at LaCosta’s, JFK Boulevard from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For information : 263-3002.
