PHOTO: ‘Lemon-aid’ for the Homeless Continues, Volunteers Needed

By Herald Staff

RIO GRANDE – Gage Grossman, 9, raised $140 in his quest to donate to the homeless in Cape May County. During two and a half hours on a hot and humid May 16 at Robinson’s Deli, “even teens on skateboards stopped to contribute,” according to his mother, Tiffany. Robinson’s and Ace Hardware donated as well. He had another “lemon-aid for the homeless” at Robinson’s May 23. All proceeds will go to “Spreading the Love,” which is sponsoring an event for the homeless May 30 outside The Branches/St. Mary’s This and That Thift Store, Rio Grande, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Volunteers are needed for the May 30 event to donate time, homemade food, desserts, packed lunches and clothing. Call 609-435-1511 for information.
