DENVER, Co.– Spc. Michael Scusa, who was killed in Afghanistan on Oct. 3, will be buried in Fort Logan National Cemetery in Denver on Friday, Oct 16.
Scusa, 22, graduated from Lower Cape May Regional High School in 2005 before joining the Army.
Scusa, lived in Colorado Springs with his wife, Alyssa, and 1-year-old son. Alyssa met Michael while she was working at the Chapel Hills Mall shortly after Scusa was stationed at Fort Carson, which was his first duty station, according to CBS affiliate, KKTV in Colorado Springs, Co.
Scusa’s church service will be held 10 a.m. on Friday at the First United Methodist Church in Colorado Springs, according to the Swan Law Funeral Directors in Colorado. The burial will follow.
Scusa was among eight soldiers from the 4th Infantry Division killed on Oct. 3 in Kamdesh, Afghanistan, when organized insurgents attacked their outpost.
