ERMA – Staff Sgt. Christopher Donohue of the New Jersey Army National Guards 50th Infantry Brigade Combat Team returned from service in Iraq on June 1.
He was deployed to Iraq as part of the largest call up of New Jersey National Guard Troops since World War II.
Donohue previously served four years of active duty as a member of a United States Marine Corp. Recognizance Team, and has served as a Class II Police Officer with the Wildwood and Lower Township police departments.
He deployed to Iraq last August and served as a squad leader for a team providing security for Military Intelligence Agents operating in Northern Iraq. Donohue led over 50 intelligence gathering combat missions while deployed and was awarded the Joint Services Commendation Medal before leaving Iraq.
Donohue married Krista Arenberg of Court House last year and was granted 10 days leave for the birth of his son on January 7.
He will continue to be on active duty orders for approximately two weeks while his unit demobilizes at Fort Dix.
