Aviation Museum Recognizes Volunteer of the Month

By Press Release

CAPE MAY – The Naval Air Station Wildwood (NASW) Aviation Museum recognizes Glenn Thompson as the museum’s Volunteer of the Month for March.
Thompson is from Westfield, NJ and has been a volunteer for the museum for over six months. His skills in construction have been especially helpful as the museum recently renovated the gift shop.
One of his favorite aspects of volunteering at the museum is learning about the historic aircraft and interacting with fellow volunteers and visitors.
Thompson is a sim-pilot at the FAA William J. Hughes Technical Center in Egg Harbor Township, a facility for aviation research, development, testing and evaluation. He also works as a farm hand.
When not working, Thompson enjoys water polo, ultimate Frisbee and skiing.
If you’d like to become a volunteer at the NASW Aviation Museum, please call 609-886-8787.
The Naval Air Station Wildwood Aviation Museum is located in Historic Hangar #1 at the Cape May Airport, New Jersey. Cape May Airport was formerly Naval Air Station Wildwood, which served as a World War II dive-bomber training center. The museum is dedicated to the 42 airmen who perished while training at Naval Air Station Wildwood between 1943 and 1945.
For more information, contact NASW Aviation Museum COO Bruce Fournier at (609) 886-8787 by email at bruce-nasw@comcast.net or visit the Hangar’s website www.usnasw.org
