DENNISVILLE – The Dennis Township Schools shared the following students’ activities during May 2019:
The DTMS Academic Team competed in the first Cape May County Brain Bowl held at Upper Township Middle School, and although they didn’t win, they had fun and learned that the french word for stew is ragu.
DTMS’s middle school dance theme was a hoedown and students worked to create elaborate props, decorations, and picture backgrounds for their classmates to enjoy.
Kylee Rothmel and Joe Rutledge were honored for being outstanding eighth grade students by the Cape May County Association of School Administrators. Criteria to be chosen involved academics, community involvement, and overall character.

DTMS Future Educators of America and the Hawkettes teamed up to sponsor the first Middle School Dodgeball tournament. The winning team was In Your Face and consisted of eighth graders Kylee Rothmel, Nick Izzi, Thomas Germanio, Michael Craver, Nick Pizagno, and Joe Rutledge

Dennis Township Middle School’s girls’ softball team celebrated their last home game with a 12-2 win over Upper Township Middle School. Coach Gonnam and Coach Lewis-Bernardo honored the eighth-grade athletes for their dedication and effort.

Dennis Township Middle School’s sixth-grade class, teachers, and parent volunteers spent three days and two nights at Camp Mason in Hardwick. Students participated in team-building activities and outdoor adventures.

Dennis Township Middle School seventh and eighth graders participated in the first annual Blue and White day, an afternoon of competition, fun, and organized games thanks to physical education teachers Mr. Petrella and Ms. Lillie. Homerooms competed against each other in kickball, scatterball, and flag football.

Dennis Township Elementary School’s fifth-grade class toured historic sites of Philadelphia.
