WILDWOOD CREST — Parrotheads are expected to be out in force when Parrotbeach, a premier tribute band performing the best of Jimmy Buffett and other island- and summer-themed music, opens the twice-weekly 2016 Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series on Sat., June 25 at 7:30 p.m. at Centennial Park.
This New Jersey-based, experienced five-piece band led by the talented Remy St. Martin does well to recreate the festive, party atmosphere of a Jimmy Buffett concert. The band regularly performs Buffett classics such as “Margaritaville,” “A Pirate Looks At Forty,” “Why Don’t We Get Drunk,” “Changes In Latitude, Changes in Attitudes” as well other well known party hits connected with the summer season.
Billed as “your ultimate vacation destination,” Parrotbeach regularly appears at music festivals, corporate events, nightclubs, summer music series and casinos across the region. According to the band’s website, Parrotbeach has been called “the hardest-working full-time Buffett band on the circuit today.”
Saturday’s event is a free all-ages show. Attendees should bring a blanket or a chair.
Centennial Park is located at Fern Road and Ocean Avenue.
The Wildwood Crest Summer Music Series, hosted by the Wildwood Crest Recreation and Tourism Department and supported by the Wildwood Crest Tourism Development Commission, consists of 21 live music shows every Wednesday and Saturday at Centennial Park through Sept. 3.
Other upcoming entertainment includes summer-themed party music with the Mango Men on Wed., June 29; dance, pop and party hits with the Chatterband on Sat., July 2; and pop, rock, dance and funk with Stellar Mojo on Wed., July 6.
