COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Library will host the following events during the month of July.
Percy Jackson Celebration
The Cape May County Library invites tweens and teens ages 10-18 to take part Camp Half-Blood, a celebration of the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan. This program will take place at two of our branches in July.
Calling all Percy Jackson fans! Do you have what it takes to be a demigod?  Find out at Camp Half-Blood! Campers will be sorted, given quests, do Nerf archery training, and much more. 
Open to tweens and teens ages 10-18. Limited to the first 20 participants, first come first serve. No registration required. Just show up! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.

Coding Club for Teens
The Cape May County Library invites teens entering grades 6-12 to Coding Club for Teens, held from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Thursdays, June 23, July 7, July 21, Aug. 4, and Aug. 18.  The programs will take place at the Lower Cape Branch of the library located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.
Join us at the Lower Cape Library and try your hand at computer programming! Open to teens entering grades 6-12. No previous skill is needed. Use one of our laptops or bring your own. No registration required. Just show up! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
Creative Writing Workshop for Teens
The Cape May County Library invites teens entering grades 6-12 to participate in a Creative Writing Workshop with instructor Keri Mikulski held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesdays, July 20, 27, as well as Aug. 3, and 10. The programs will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
​This series of four workshops will introduce teens to the craft of writing, including poetry, fiction, and personal narrative. Participants will practice brainstorming, free-writing, drafting and workshopping to develop their own style, tone, and voice. Through these various writer-focused activities, students will work towards developing their identity as a community of writers. Crochet Club for Teens
The Cape May County Library invites teens entering grades 6-12 to Crochet Club for Teens with instructor Randi Ziring held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Mondays, July 11, 18, 25, as well as August 1st, and 8th.  The programs will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Learn the art of crochet with instructor Randi Ziring. All skill levels are welcome and the library will provide all the supplies you need. Open to teens entering grades 6-12. No registration required. Just show up! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
LGBTQIA Teen Night
The Cape May County Library invites teens ages 13 to 18 to LGBTQIA Teen Night held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. June 27. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Are you ages 13-18? Do you identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning, intersex, or asexual? Are you an ally to individuals who identify in these ways? Join us at the Court House Library for a meet up. We’ll eat snacks, play games, make crafts, and hang out! Open to teens ages 13-18. No registration required. Just show up! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
Teen Minute Challenges
The Cape May County Library invites teens entering grades 6-12 to take part in one minute challenge games. This program will take place at three of our branches in June and July.
Celebrate the beginning of the Teen Summer Reading by joining us for an afternoon of games and fun. Local teens and summer visitors are invited to compete in one minute challenges while making new friends.  See if you can beat the clock! Open to teens entering grades 6-12. No registration required. African Dance & Rhythm Workshop for Teens
The Cape May County Library invites teens entering grades 6-12 and their families to an African Dance & Rhythm Workshop held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26th.  The program will take place at the Wildwood Crest Branch of the library located at 6300 Atlantic Avenue in Wildwood Crest.
Learn Nigerian and Ghanaian basic dance movements and rhythm patterns with the Bi-Okoto Drum & Dance Theatre! The dance troupe from Cincinnati will guide participants through warm up activities, hand technique, and understanding tempos and rhythm patterns. Arrive in comfortable clothing and be ready to move! Open to teens entering grades 6-12 and their families. Limited to the first 50 participants, first come first serve. No registration required. Just show up! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
 “Super Bowls” Craft for Teens
The Cape May County Library invites teens entering grades 6-12 to a crafting session featuring designing and decorating bowls. This program will take place at three of our branches in July.
Open to teens entering grades 6-12. Coloring sheets will be provided for younger siblings. No registration required. Just show up! Look for our take-home craft in your local branch’s teen space, too! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.

Teen Manga Art Contest 
The Cape May County Library invites teens, ages 12 to 18, to enter the 2016 Teen Manga Art Contest.
All entries are due no later than Aug. 1, 2016. Entry forms can be picked up at any Cape May County Library branches or online at teen.cmclibrary.org. 
There are two categories: Original Character Portrait and Get in the Game.  Entries may be submitted on 8.5×11” paper or as digital scans with a resolution of at least 900×720 pixels. Entries may be turned in at any branch of the Cape May County Library system or by mail. One submission is allowed in each category from each contestant with a possible total of two art pieces submitted per person. Entries may also be emailed to teen@cmclibrary.org.
Winners and honorable mentions will be announced at an awards ceremony at Court House Library on August 12th at 1:30 pm.  Winner of the Original Character Portrait category will receive the first five volumes in a popular manga series. Winner of the Get in the Game category will receive a gift basket of manga art supplies.

Teen Photography Contest 
The Cape May County Library and Sturdy Savings Bank invite teens, ages 12 to 18, to enter the 2016 Teen Photography Contest.
This year’s theme is “Picture This.”  All entries are due no later than Aug. 1, 2016. Entry forms can be picked up at any Cape May County Library branches or online at teen.cmclibrary.org. Entries must be accompanied by a Photo and Media Release form which can also be found at any library branch or online. 
There are three categories: Cape May County, Nature, and Get in the Game: Read.  Entries may be submitted as 8×10” prints or as digital photos with a resolution of at least 900×720 pixels. Entries may be turned in at any branch of the Cape May County Library system or by mail. Two photo submissions are allowed in each category from each contestant with a possible total of six photos submitted per person. Entries may also be emailed to teen@cmclibrary.org.

County Library Seeks Teen Volunteers
The Cape May County Library invites teens, ages 13 to 17, to participate in the Teen Volunteer Program at the library.
Interested teens may sign up for orientation sessions at the Court House Library and Lower Township Library. After orientation, volunteers will choose from a list of available jobs. Volunteer slots will be open year-round, allowing teens to gain valuable experience that can be included on resumes, college applications, and scholarship applications.
The volunteer program is currently available at the Court House and Lower Township Library branches.
Game Day for Tweens and Teens
The Cape May County Library invites tweens and teens ages 10 to 17 to Game Day held from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Tuesdays, July 5, 12, 19, and 26.  The programs will take place at the Wildwood Crest Branch of the library located at 6300 Atlantic Avenue in Wildwood Crest.
Play video games on our Wii U, board games, card games and more!  Open to ages 10-17. No registration required. Just show up! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
Yoga for Teens and Parents
The Cape May County Library invites teens ages 12 to 18 and their parents or guardians to Yoga Class with instructor Tammy Decker held from 10:45 to 11:45 a.m. on Saturdays, July 16 and 30, as well as Aug. 6. The program will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Yoga is a beautiful way to start your day. Awaken your inner energy and awareness. Please bring your own mats! Open to teens ages 12-18 and their parents or guardians. No registration required. Just show up! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
Zombie Survival Course for Teens
The Cape May County Library invites teens entering grades 7-12 to participate in a Zombie Survival Course held from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday and Fridays, July 6, 8, 13, and 15.  The programs will take place at the Main Branch of the library located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Do you know enough survival skills to survive a post-zombie apocalypse? In this four-part workshop teens will have the opportunity to work together and individually to create different wilderness survival equipment and tools, work through zombie scenarios, and learn about wilderness survival tactics. Open to teens entering grades 7-12.

Zumba for Teens and Parents
The Cape May County Library invites teens ages 12 to 18 and their parents or guardians to Zumba Dance Fitness Class with instructor Kellie Wood held from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. July 11.  The program will take place at the Wildwood Crest Branch of the library located at 6300 Atlantic Avenue in Wildwood Crest.
Zumba is a dance fitness program that is a combination of Latin-American dance, hip-hop, and aerobic exercises. If you are looking for camaraderie, excitement and fitness this is the class for you!  Open to teens ages 12-18 and their parents or guardians. No registration required. Just show up! All teens can visit and use all branches of the Cape May County Library.
