Crest traffic blocked for classic car parade

By On Deck Staff

The 1st Doo Wop Coffee Shop Street Festival, Presented by Thunder Motor Sports, Tangier’s Motel and Cape Cod Motel, will be held 6:30-9:30 p.m., featuring the Fun Seekers Band, food, vendors, and much more. Trophy presentations will begin at 8:30 p.m.
“This is a new beginning to the car show weekend that has lost followers in the past few years,” said Jason Kramer, owner of the Doo Wop Coffee Shop at the Tangier’s Hotel, 6201 Atlantic Ave., Wildwood Crest.
“We believe the street festival is a way to bring back the family fun and atmosphere car owners were missing,” Kramer continued.
“The city of Wildwood Crest had allowed the closing of three blocks to display cars for the Thursday festival. The city has also allowed us to continue the tradition of the daily car parade through the Wildwoods, ending up around Sunset Lake every evening starting at 3 p.m.”
“This festival has a lot of meaning, because we are trying to make this car show weekend very memorable for car owners to continue the family feeling the Wildwoods gives to all of us at some point.”
The 3 p.m. daily classic car parade travels down the Boardwalk to Atlantic Ave., then south to Sunset Lake in Wildwood Crest.
Registration for classic car owners will be held at the Imperial 500 Motel, Forget-Me-Not and Atlantic aves., Wildwood Crest.
Parking on Sweet Briar, Wisteria, and Columbine roads will be blocked off for the event.
