COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the Crest Haven Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Activities Department honored Collette Lombardi, a resident on the east wing. She will be turning 102 Sept. 30 and celebrated with a birthday party Sept. 15.
Collette was born Sept. 30, 1913 in Camden, New Jersey. She grew up in Collingswood, New Jersey and attended Collingswood High School. She later began her career as a secretary for a Title Company where she worked for many years.
June 22, 1940, she married James Lombardi and they had one daughter also named Collette. Mr. & Mrs. Lombardi retired to Ocean City, NJ in 1972 where they enjoyed many area attractions. They especially enjoyed dancing and dining every weekend at the Crab Trap in Somers Point. They were considered the “Fred & Ginger” of their era by the locals.
Mrs. Lombardi enjoys reading novels, sewing and watching soap operas. Mrs. Lombardi is blessed with 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
