WOODBINE – The Cape May County Library will present a “Hanging Basket” demonstration at the Woodbine Branch of the Cape May County library, 800 Monroe Street, Woodbine, June 10, from 1 to 2 p.m.
The presenter will be Joseph Alvarez, who regularly gives gardening and horticultural programs at various Cape May County library locations, including Woodbine where he continues to be a much-sought after speaker. His most recent presentation in Woodbine was last month’s well-attended herb demo.
Joe has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology with a minor in Environmental Science, is a founding member of the Cape May County Beach Plum Association, a member of the state Beekeepers Association, and is active in many county and agricultural programs in South Jersey.
If you are yearning to create your own private Babylon, hanging baskets are the way to go. They can provide a touch of old-fashioned tranquility, and your options for what to grow are nearly endless. Come and see the “how to create your own” hanging art and work with ideas and species that are the best time-tested solutions.
“We are delighted that the library is holding a gardening program on a Saturday afternoon here in Woodbine for the second month in a row. This is a great time of year for displaying your greenery and the bees will be pleased,” added Mayor Pikolycky. “This comes on the heels of Joe’s very informative herb demo last moth which has inspired us to create an herb garden for the Borough.”
