County Library Hosts Engineering Challenge for Teens

COURT HOUSE — The Cape May County Library invites teens entering grades 6-12 to participate in ‘Mallow Wars: Revenge of the Fluff, an engineering challenge part of the Build a Better World Summer Reading Club. The programs will be take place at two of our branches in Aug.
Join the fun at the following branches:
Main Branch, 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House (609-463-6350)
Mondays, Aug. 7 and 21 from 2:00-3:30 p.m.
Wildwood Crest Branch, 6300 Atlantic Avenue in Wildwood Crest (609-522-0564)
Mondays, Aug. 14 and 28 from 2:00-3:30 p.m.
The challenge will take place in two parts. In Catapults (Aug. 7 and 14), the task is to construct a marshmallow launcher from provided supplies, measured for accuracy, distance, and power. In Towers (Aug. 21 and 28), the challenge is to construct the tallest free-standing structure that will support the weight of a marshmallow, using mostly dry spaghetti. Bring your design skills. Supplies and epic soundtrack provided. Zany prizes go to the winners. Open to teens entering grades 6-12.
