County Library Announces Children’s Events for August

COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County Library will host the following events for children during the month of August.
1,000 Books Graduation
The Cape May County Library invites children up to 5 years old and their families to a celebration for the 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten program at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 24. The celebration will be held at the Main Branch of the library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Children up to 5 years old and their families are invited to come celebrate with us! We will be presenting our graduates for this year, reading some stories and having snacks! If your child is not yet registered for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten and not yet in kindergarten, now is a great time to start! Art @ the Library!
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 6-10 to Art @ the Library presented by the Cape May Center for Community Arts. The program will take place at the Cape May City Branch Library Thursdays, Aug. 11, and 18 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. The Cape May City Branch Library is located on Ocean & Hughes Streets in Cape May.
Children ages six through ten are invited to enjoy Art @ the Library. Activities combine literature and art where children read a book and create a work of art using a variety of media and styles. Parental participation is welcomed. These programs are presented by the Community Center for the Arts. For more information, call (609) 884-7525.
Art @ the Library in Lower!
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 6-10 to Art @ the Library presented by the Cape May Center for Community Arts. The program will take place at the Lower Cape Branch Library Wednesdays, Aug. 10, and 17 from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. The Lower Cape Branch Library is located at 2600 Bayshore Road in the Villas.

Saturday Morning Cartoons
The Cape May County Library invites children, ages 5-14, and their families to join us for Saturday Morning Cartoons. The program will take place at 12:30 p.m. Aug. 13 at the Main Branch of the library, located at 30 W. Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House.
Relive lazy mornings at the library. We’ll provide the cereal and classic cartoons, and you can bring your pillows and pajamas! Kids ages, 5-14, and their families welcome!
Little Champions Baby & Toddler Storytimes
The Cape May County Library invites babies, birth to 2 years old, and their caregivers to Baby & Toddler Storytimes held at three of our libraries in August.
Come sing, dance, and read stories with us at the library this summer! Baby & Toddler Storytime is great for developing your child’s language and social skills. Storytime topics will complement our summer “On Your Mark, Get Set…Read” theme. Be sure to dress for mess! Some sessions may include optional arts & craft projects at the end.

Children’s Summer Reading Finale with Chad Juros
The Cape May County Library invites children and their families to the Finale of the Children’s Summer Reading Club featuring magician Chad Juros. This event will be held at many of our library branches in August.
Summer Reading Club Finale! *Summer Reading Club Event!* Join us for an amazing magic show where you could be asked to join in on the fun! We’ll also be celebrating our Summer Reading Club success with snacks…and if all the kids have read over a total of 12,000 books you’ll even get to see the librarians compete against each other in a crazy obstacle course! While this program is best suited for kids ages 4-12 and their families, kids birth-12 years old are welcome.
