COURT HOUSE – The Cape May County 4-H Program Advisory Council awarded 2020 Mission Mini-Grants for educational projects to five 4-H clubs Feb. 18.
According to a release, the winning clubs were Growing Sprouts, Kitchen Phanatics, Lower Cape May Regional High School, Scales & Tails, and Tightlines.
The Kitchen Phanatics 4-H Club will use its grant to cover educational field trips.
The Tightlines 4-H Club will use the funds to purchase waders to enable the club to explore, learn, and practice a different method of fishing.
The Scales & Tails 4-H Herpetology 4-H Club will purchase classroom materials to expand their educational library in the study of herpetology.
Growing Sprouts 4-H Club will use their funds to grow a Friendship Flower Garden that will yield flowers that will be given to residents at local nursing homes.
The Lower Cape May Regional 4-H Club will use their grant for an educational tour at the Rainforest Café in Atlantic City.
The Program Advisory Council raises funds for these grants and other 4-H educational needs through fundraising projects and proceeds from the 4-H refreshment booth at the annual Cape May County 4-H Fair.
This year’s fair will take place July 16-18 at the 4-H fairgrounds in Court House.
