ATLANTIC CITY – It’s prom season and a local charity is ensuring that all students have access to a prom dress and accessories. Project Prom Atlantic County will be giving away gently used dresses, shoes, jewelry, and handbags to high school students in need over three days in March.
The Project Prom “shop” will be open on the second floor of Kensington Furniture, 200 Tilton Road, Northfield, March 24, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.; March 25, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.; and March 26, 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Now in its third year, Project Prom Atlantic County was started by local real estate agent Rene Kane after seeing a post on social media from someone in need looking for a prom dress for her daughter. She teamed up with Boys & Girls Club to launch the event.
“Together with the Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City, an army of volunteer and in-kind donations, we are able to make hundreds of wonderful memories and a magical night happen for local teens,” she said.
Project Prom Atlantic County is open to all students in Atlantic, Cape May and Cumberland counties. All that is needed is a valid student ID to receive the items. Dresses and accessories will be given on a first-come, first-served basis. There will be no dress appointments this year.
Donations are still needed.
Project Prom is still looking for items, especially gently used or new prom dresses in plus sizes.
Items may be donated prior to the event at the following locations: Kensington Furniture & Mattress, 200 Tilton Road, Northfield, N.J. 08225; Milton & Betty Katz JCC, 501 N. Jerome Ave., Margate, N.J.; and the ACC Board of Realtors ACCBOR, 6429 Black Horse Pike, Egg Harbor Township, N.J. 08234.

Cape May – I am enjoying the meltdown from so many Leftists on president elect Trumps picks for his cabinet and their stating that he is bringing on people with zero experience in government. Yes, you nailed it…
