Nearly Swept Away in Cape May

By Megan Kummer

What we’ll remember…
Krista Goodwin married Joe Handlin on Oct. 13, 2013 in Cape May.
Krista recalls…
The days leading up to the wedding were less than politely met with a nor’easter, and we weren’t too confident our ceremony was going to weather the storm.
We decided to take a few risks. The weather that day was a bit chilly, but it had stopped raining. We were able to get pictures in my parents’ garden, and then we went to the Cape May Cove for pictures on the beach.
The most infamous of all pictures has come be known as “The Wave Photo.” As Joe and I were holding a pose, we heard the Art + Life Photography team scream. We looked back and saw we were a split second away from saturation!
Thankfully, we escaped with not a moment to spare. There was no way I wanted my gorgeous dress from Wedding Belles to get drenched.
Our wedding ceremony was immediately following pictures, and our driver from TD Limousine got us there on time and in style!
A moment that touched the hearts of all in attendance was the incorporation of Joe’s children, as they accepted my vow to love and care for them as well.
With the photos taken care of beforehand, a recommendation courtesy of Art + Life Photography, we were able to greet our guests as they came off the elevator. We danced the night away with our family and friends, and created memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives.
