Cape May County Questers Members Visit County Clerk’s Office

By Press Release

COURT HOUSE – Cape May County Questers members toured the County Clerk’s Archives on Oct. 3 and attended a presentation by County Clerk Rita Marie Fulginiti entitled “Woodrow Wilson’s Legacy for Cape May County.”
Fulginiti said “it was a treat to host the Questers who study history and work as a group to preserve historical objects. We enjoyed discussing Woodrow Wilson, New Jersey’s 34th Governor who was elected the 28th President of the United States 100 years ago. Wilson’s five visits to Cape May County from 1910-1912 were huge events here drawing standing room only crowds wherever he went. Wilson, a leader in the Progressive Movement, endeavored to strengthen and streamline government in New Jersey. His ideas are still important today. He had recommended the consolidation of governmental entities which brought about the joining of the Boroughs of Holly Beach and Wildwood into the City of Wildwood.”
