Cape Assist to Light the Night at Tree of Hope Event

Cape Assist's Trees of Hope will be lit again Dec. 5 and remain through December.

By Press Release

WILDWOOD – Cape Assist will again light the night Dec. 5 for its annual Tree of Hope event dedicated to those celebrating their recovery, those struggling with addictions, and those who have lost their battle against addiction.
According to a release, the event is also a show of support for families touched by addiction.
All are invited to attend this event beginning at 6 p.m. at Cape Assist headquarters, 3819 New Jersey Ave., Wildwood.
More than 14 trees will be illuminated during the ceremony and will serve as a reminder that despite feelings of stigma or isolation, support is available, and recovery is possible.
The display will stay lit through December to help through the holidays, a time when individuals and families touched by addiction struggle to find the joy of the season.
In addition to the lighting, attendees will have the opportunity to listen to inspirational stories shared by those living in recovery.
“Tree of Hope provides a visual representation of hope to anyone battling an addiction,” stated Katie Faldetta, executive director of Cape Assist. “Even if it’s just here for a short period of time, having an accessible display like this gives anyone who sees it, or hears about it, hope that there can be a bright future for everyone battling an addiction.”
Decorations including ornaments, stars, and angels will adorn the trees in honor of those in any stage of recovery, including those who are here today, and those who are no longer with us due to addiction.
Those who desire to dedicate a tree or decoration in honor of, or in memory of, a loved one, sponsorships are available with prices ranging from $10-$100.
That dedication will remain on display throughout December.
To sponsor an ornament or tree for dedication, visit www.capeassist.org/toh or call 609-522-5960. All proceeds raised during Tree of Hope will go to helping those in-need get into recovery and maintain their sobriety.
