WILDWOOD – Cape Assist will celebrate thirty years of service to Cape May County this year.
Cape Assist was incorporated in 1982 as The Cape May County Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse, Inc. (better known as Cape Assist); the non-profit substance abuse prevention and treatment agency has more than doubled in size over the past 30 years. From a group of five dedicated founders who thought it was important to spread the word about the reality of addiction, Cape Assist now offers treatment services for individuals and their families who are suffering or affected by someone’s addiction. The Agency also offers prevention programs and services to schools, businesses, organizations, families and individuals. Cape Assist’s services reached over 15,000 individuals annually throughout the county. The office is open from 9-4 Monday through Friday and visitors are welcome.
Cape Assist’s current Board of Trustees includes: Rick Rixey, President; Matt Buesing, Vice President; Kristin Shoffler, Secretary; Vickie Banks, Treasurer: Darius Sheik, Ric Rutherford, Bill Huf and Mitch Nichols.
