Yes She Can! is celebrating its grand re-opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at their new location in Marmora on Sept. 13, 2019 at 9:30 a.m. The new, larger location is located at 50 Tuckahoe Road (in the old Hallmark store), only steps away from their old store.
Dana Wilson, owner and bra fitting specialist at Yes She Can!, has been instilling confidence in women for quite some time.
Dana’s passion began over eight years ago while reading an article on her lunch hour. “At the time I was working at the Prosecutor’s Office, and one day during my lunch hour I read an article on a woman in North Jersey who specialized in bra fittings,” says Dana. She met with her for a bra fitting and it changed her life! On her ride home from the fitting, she called her husband and told him she was quitting her job to sell bras. While this article gave her inspiration, she had two big reasons for starting this business: one, she always had trouble finding bras that fit her correctly, and two, she needed something that worked for her as a mother of two. With owning a business, Dana could create her own schedule and focus on her family.
Dana began selling bras out of suitcases, driving her van to women’s homes for specialized bra fittings. She did this for six years, traveling east and south of Philadelphia to help women all over the region.
In Sept. 2017, Dana found a permanent home for her business and opened her first brick-and-mortar store in Marmora. Since opening the store, Dana won the Trailblazer Award at The 2018 Best of Intima Awards, which recognize the finest independent retailers in the intimate apparel industry in North America. In October 2018, she was presented with Cape May County Chamber’s 2018 Young Professional Award.
As the business grew, Dana felt it was time to expand her business and move into a larger location. In March 2018, Dana asked the owner of the Marmora Hallmark if she would be interested in selling the building. The owner agreed and decided to retire after running the successful business over 39 years. In August 2019, Dana opened the doors to her new store, which provides 2,000 sq. ft. for more merchandise, larger dressing rooms, and more space for events and private fittings.
On the first Wednesday of every month (beginning Oct. 2), Yes She Can! will host a breast cancer gathering from 7-8 p.m. for women to relax and discuss their journeys with likeminded women.
Dana creates a personal shopping experience for each woman who walks into her shop, making the fitting process quick, easy, and painless. Women of all shapes and sizes leave Yes She Can! with supportive apparel that makes them look and feel great.
Yes She Can! offers high-quality bras, nursing bras, mastectomy bras, training bras and sports bras in a selection of band sizes 28 to 48 and cup sizes A through O, as well as cup-sized and competitive swimwear, athletic wear, lingerie, pajamas, and ladies apparel.
The shop is open year-round Tuesday through Saturday; closed Sundays in January and February. The store now has expanded hours of operation, open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday and Saturday; and 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Sunday.
