World-class Dermatologic Care with a Personal Touch at Kane Dermatology

By Sponsored

Kane Dermatology is now open and providing world-class dermatologic care to the local community! Located in Somers Point, Dr. Kelly Rose Kane and her staff pride themselves in providing comprehensive treatment for diseases of the skin, hair and nails, as well as aesthetic and cosmetic services.
Kelly’s journey into the dermatological world began after her third year of medical school. She initially wished to get involved in internal medicine, but then found that dermatology was her true passion. “I realized that healthy skin is an essential component of overall wellness. I enjoyed the variety of the specialty with procedures, and also how I can treat children and adults,” says Kelly.
So after completing medical school at Drexel University College of Medicine, Kelly went on to follow her dream by training at the world-renowned Mayo Clinic with a Dermatology Residency and a Dermatopathology Fellowship.
Kelly didn’t plan to open her own practice at first; but as she continued to grow as a physician, she began to feel that something was missing. “I reflected on my roots of why I entered the field of medicine and dermatology,” Kelly shares. “The inspiration to start my own practice was founded in my belief of the overall importance of the physician-patient relationship.”
Kelly believed that all patients should be treated individually, respected and given the time they need to be treated appropriately, and she recognized that the best way to ensure this quality of patient care was to start her own practice. “We strive to provide world-class skin care, but at the same time we never want to lose that personal touch,” she says. “As a physician, I recognize that I am privileged to have such an intimate and meaningful relationship with my patients.”
Deciding on a location for her new practice was easy. Although she grew up in Montgomery County, Pa., Kelly was lucky enough to spend her summers in Ocean City. After college, medical school and training, she knew she wanted to return to her love of the Jersey Shore and live in a coastal community. Now, Kelly is lucky enough to live in Ocean City with her husband Patrick, who is a local orthopaedic surgeon, and their three children, Grace (6), Tierney (5) and Liam (3), and work in Somers Point.
What makes Kane Dermatology different than other dermatologists in the area is that Kelly truly listens to her patients. She believes that true healing potential relies on the time and capacity to truly listen to her patients, hear their stories and learn not only what’s the matter with them, but also what matters to them. “I strive to make patients feel comfortable during what can be an anxiety-provoking experience, and feel that they have been heard,” explains Kelly. “Additionally, I want to engage my patients in the decision-making process, listening and taking the time to discuss various treatment options.”
At Kane Dermatology, patients can have the assurance that not only will they always be seen by a board certified dermatologist, but they will also be seen by a physician who is continually striving to provide world-class dermatologic care with a personal, humanistic touch.
Kane Dermatology will be holding an open house to celebrate their grand opening on Thursday, June 14. Patients, local physicians and local residents of the community are invited to come celebrate, learn more about the practice and meet the staff.
“Patrick and I feel truly blessed to be a part of such an amazing community,” says Kelly, “and especially privileged to help provide care for our own community.” The Kanes look forward to meeting you!
Kane Dermatology is located at 235 Shore Rd., Suite C, Somers Point. For more information, call (609) 705-SKIN (7546) or visit kanedermatology.com.
