RIO GRANDE – Window Genie of South Jersey donated a free window film installation at the Rio Grande Fire Department on August 20. Window Genie of South Jersey is a locally owned home service franchise specializing in residential and light commercial window cleaning, window tinting, pressure washing and more. Film was installed on all bay windows in the overhead doors at the firehouse to protect vehicles, historical photos and equipment from fading and sun damage.
Window Genie owner Paul Guglielmi learned about the firehouse’s need for window tinting from fellow BNI member, Bob Sweeten, the secretary for the fire department. After visiting the station to perform an estimate, Guglielmi decided to provide the service for free. Guglielmi said, “I worked for 33 years in the fire industry supplying equipment to departments like Rio Grande. What most people don’t realize is that 75 percent of the fire departments in this country are volunteer. They risk their lives for the public on their own time with no compensation other than knowing they may have saved lives and property. They often work on a limited budget and I would rather see their funds applied to the equipment they need to stay safe in their mission. That’s why I offered the service at no charge.”
Since opening for business in October 2014, Window Genie of South Jersey has worked to improve the look and value of homes and businesses in the Greater Cape May area. Guglielmi said, “I became a business owner not only for the freedom and control over my own success, but to get plugged into my hometown and give back.”
