WILDWOOD — Visitors of Time Magazine’s Web site: www.time.com are afforded the opportunity to view representative locations, one from each state. Wildwood was selected to portray New Jersey.
Announcing that was Tracey DuFault of the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce at the July 16 Cape May County Chamber of Commerce meeting at Urie’s Waterfront Restaurant.
In a Time story by Reed Tucker, the city was cited as of the “most significant rock ‘n’ roll sites…”
It lists some of that era’s stars, such as Bill Haley and the Comets, Chubby Checker and Dick Clark who hosted American Bandstand here in 1957.
The feature also includes a nearly-three-minute video of the Boardwalk and amusement rides, as well as interviews with several island business people.
