Wildwood Boat Show Cancelled

By Jim Vanore

Calling it a “hiatus for one year,” the Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce has cancelled this year’s Wildwoods Boat Show and Fishing Expo, scheduled for April 4-6, at the Wildwoods Convention Center.
Tracey DuFault, Executive Director stated, “Although we are very optimistic that the state of the economy is changing in a positive direction, we feel that it has become apparent that we cannot execute a production that will generate the same interest and support that our past boat show events received.
“The Greater Wildwood Chamber of Commerce Boat Show exists to serve the interest of the Mid-Atlantic boating community. It is our opinion that neither the marine dealers’ nor the boating public would benefit at this time by attending this show considering the current economic climate”
According to the Chamber, the interest is still there, so the hope is that the expo will return in 2010.
