NORTH WILDWOOD — There are crowds, and then are huge crowds, and the annual Irish Festival in this city easily draws the largest throng with several hundred thousand who celebrate Celtic heritage and traditions.
Throughout the weekend a variety of events will take place, including a Saturday morning Brian Riley Pipe Exhibition at the Eight and Central avenues field. There, bagpipers will demonstrate their marching and musical abilities, in something that brings back memories of the Emerald Isle to many.
On Sunday, at 1 p.m. a grand parade will begin from 24th and Surf Avenue. Grand marshal will be Rev. William (Fr. Bill) McCandless with special guest Seamus Boyle, national AOH president.
For a complete list of activities, see this week’s On Deck, in print or in PDF form.
