Suasion Communications Group Wins Coveted 2015 HSMAI Gold & Silver Adrian Awards for Special Event Public Relations Campaigns

SOMERS POINT – Suasion Communications Group has won two 2015 Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association (HSMAI) Gold and Silver Adrian Awards for special event public relations campaigns promoting the Cape May County Coast Guard Community Festival and Paramount Air Service’s 70th anniversary.
In 2015, Cape May County celebrated its designation as an official ‘Coast Guard Community’ with a three-day festival that celebrated the deep connections between the U.S. Coast Guard and Cape May County, and honoring Coast Guard personnel and their families. Suasion Communications Group partnered with the Coast Guard Festival Committee to increase awareness, generate event attendance, and attract media interest and coverage.
Also this year, Paramount Air Service marked seven decades of outstanding service to the community during an anniversary celebration on August 4. Owner Barbara Tomalino partnered with Suasion Communications Group to develop a proactive public relations campaign to promote its 70th anniversary, which included a celebration event.
Suasion’s campaigns were selected from a field of 1,300 total entries submitted this year, and were judged to be exceptional by experts in hospitality, travel, tourism and media. Judges were asked to evaluate each entry based on its own merit and success in achieving its objectives. At least three judges reviewed each entry, and their average score earned Suasion the title of “winner” in this year’s competition.
“The Suasion team is extremely proud to have our innovative public relations campaigns recognized from the 1,300 national and international entries submitted for this year’s HSMAI Adrian Awards,” said Susan Adelizzi-Schmidt, president of Suasion Communications Group.
Suasion’s creative input, close relationships with media and robust social media skills generated awareness, excitement and attendance for both the Coast Guard Community Festival and Paramount Air Service’s 70th anniversary. Although Suasion had a limited time period to develop and execute the campaigns, the results were outstanding – including placements in national, regional and local broadcast, print, and web outlets, which collectively garnered an advertising equivalency of over $350,000 for the Coast Guard Community Festival and over $780,000 for the Paramount Air Services 70th anniversary event.
The Cape May County Coast Guard Community Festival’s primary objectives were achieved: generating excellent event attendance and attracting an abundance of media interest and coverage. The Coast Guard Community Foundation was able to position Cape May County as the Coast Guard’s Hometown, and highlight the U.S. Coast Guard’s historical ties to the County, economic impact and community efforts.
Suasion raised awareness about Paramount Air Service’s commitment to being a leader in the aerial advertising industry, as well as an integral part of Cape May County, for 70 years. The campaign achieved its goal in raising awareness of the company and its accomplishments/community contributions to Cape May County.
The Adrian Awards are presented annually by the HSMAI to honor outstanding achievements in advertising, public relations and website marketing in the travel industry. Founded in 1957, the Adrian Awards embrace all segments of the hospitality industry, including hotels, airlines, cruise lines, destinations and more.
