CAPE MAY — Stephanie Gerow of Chester Springs, Pa. is the Mid-Atlantic Center for the Arts & Humanities (MAC) Volunteer of the Month for December 2018. Gerow, 16, is the granddaughter of Emily and Joe McLaughlin of Cape May, and is being recognized for volunteering all day during MAC’s Cape May Hops Festival June 23 at the historic 1879 Emlen Physick Estate, at MAC’s Refreshment Stand. She put in a full, busy day making fresh lemonade for hundreds of customers and pitching in generally wherever she was needed. She is a sophomore at Downingtown East High School in Downingtown, Pa. and is very active in theater and her church youth group, and is also a devoted volunteer for Habitat for Humanity.
Stephanie was nominated for this honor by Barbara Hubmaster of MAC, who worked alongside her. “Stephanie is delightful,” said Hubmaster. “She did a wonderful job at MAC’s Refreshment Stand and was a big, big help. We really appreciated her energy and enthusiasm on this festival day, when we are so very busy.”
