SJTPO Citizens Advisory Committee

By Sponsored Content

Since March 2014, the South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization has formally reconstituted its Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC). The South Jersey Transportation Planning Organization (SJTPO) is the federally-mandated Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for the southern New Jersey region. Formed in 1993 and covering Atlantic, Cape May, Cumberland and Salem counties, the SJTPO works to provide a regional approach to solving transportation problems. The CAC is meant to serve as a conduit for the public to advise the regional transportation planning process in South Jersey.
The CAC has adopted the mission to “provide citizens access to, and participation in, the regional planning and decision-making process, and serve as an advisory role to both the Policy Board and the Technical Advisory Committee.” Currently, the CAC has at least one member from each of SJTPO’s four counties and meets approximately every quarter. Meeting venues are rotated between each of the four counties.
The CAC leadership includes Bob Campbell (Chair), Richard Morton (Vice-Chair) and David Heller (Secretary/SJTPO Staff Liaison). All meetings are open to the public. Additional information on SJTPO’s CAC, including upcoming and past meeting times, locations and agendas, as well as meeting minutes from previous meetings, can be found at www.sjtpo.org/CAC.html.
