Shore Memorial Recognizes C. Murphy

By Herald Staff

SOMERS POINT — The ability to extend herself to help others earned Christina Martin Murphy the honor of being named Shore Memorial Hospital’s July Employee of the Month.
Murphy, library, media and educational services coordinator in the hospital’s organizational development department, started her career at Shore Memorial in 1999 as a member of the clerical float team before moving to her current position.
“Chris is one of those people in the organization that quietly does amazing and critical work,” stated Lynn Gallagher Ford,
registered nurse, administrative director of maternal child health, in a release. “She can be relied upon in retrieving evidence-based literature that enhances the care we deliver at Shore Memorial.”
“It is an honor to have been selected,” she said. Murphy advised co-workers to have respect and consideration for each other. “A smile and kind words can mean so much.”
Originally from Long Beach Island, Murphy lives in Marmora with her husband, Wayne. The couple has five children.
She has an applied science degree from Atlantic Cape Community College and is a certified massage therapist. In her spare time, Murphy enjoys cooking and is part of a gourmet cooking group. She also enjoys reading and camping.
