STONE HARBOR — Zoning Board rescheduled a Sept. 11 hearing for the Shelter Haven application that seeks a hardship variance, use variance, conditional use (outdoor dining) and site plan review for the anticipated Shelter Haven Resort at 9601 Third Ave.
The hearing was postponed until Oct. 9 at 7 p.m.
Attorney Louis Dwyer, representing owner Dr. John Sprandio, asked that a full board be present for a use-variance. Two board members were absent.
Board member Alan Kaplan asked if the delay in a hearing would further delay progress of construction.
“That may or may not be the case. The shell isn’t changing,” Dwyer said.
He said room-count changes and reorientation of rooms are “to satisfy the funding agency of this project.”
Dwyer said groundbreaking depends on the architect.
The borough’s lease of the property for use as a public park expired Sept. 9.
