SEA ISLE CITY — County and local officials unveiled the new S.V.I. 26-foot Fire/Rescue Boat at the Sea Isle City Marina on June 30.
The boat, that cost $146,362, was purchased with funds from the county’s 2008 Municipal Joint Venture Program.
The vessel will be used by Sea Isle City’s volunteer fire department and police department for use in emergency situations where access is limited on land and response time is quicker by water. Additionally, the new boat will provide emergency personnel with enhanced access to waterfront and beachfront properties.
“This is just one example of how the three-year Joint Venture Program enabled Cape May County’s 16 municipalities to make improvements or purchase equipment that improved the quality of life and safety of their residents and visitors,” Freeholder Director Daniel Beyel stated in a release.
