By Herald Staff

EDISON — The New Jersey Association of Realtors applauded the June 1 confirmation of Christina P. Clemans to the State Housing Commission by the state Senate.
“With the confirmation of Chris Clemans, Garden State residents have gained a tremendous housing advocate who will tirelessly work to develop fair and practical housing policies for the state,” stated 2009 NJAR President Diane Dilzell in a release.
“Chris is a passionate real estate professional who has an in-depth understanding of the industry. She is also an extremely compassionate individual who, through her work with the NJAR Housing Opportunity Foundation, has created greater homeownership opportunities for New Jerseyans,” she added.
Clemans, broker-owner of Chris Clemans Sotheby’s International Realty, is president of the NJAR Housing Opportunity Foundation, Inc. and past president of the New Jersey Association of Realtors. She brings over 26 years experience to the industry and holds the National Association of Realtors ABR, CRS, GRI, PMN and RSPS designations.
As a member of the State Housing Commission, Clemans’ duties will be:
To help gather the public’s input in the preparation of a plan through public hearings and other activities.
To provide guidance and direction with respect to the policies and strategies to be pursued by state agencies in the development of a State Housing Plan.
To help assemble and disseminate information on New Jersey’s housing needs and strategies that may be useful in addressing those needs.
To help develop and adopt the Annual Strategic Housing Plan.
“I am excited that I will be able to lend my expertise and experience to such a worthwhile endeavor,” stated Clemans.
“Developing a sensible and workable plan to provide New Jersey residents with more affordable housing options is a lofty goal. I am honored to be a part of this process and look forward to lending a voice to the business community and homeowners alike.”
